A candid and challenging assessment of Christian interaction with our current culture. It talks about the full story of the Christian faith beginning with Creation, moving through the Fall, embracing Redemption and ending with Restoration.
The Christian story, God’s story, doesn’t begin with sin. Sin is only a part of the story. When Christians focus on the Fall and Redemption, that’s only half of the story and is incoherent to many people. The full story is what makes sense to people. It’s what people respond to.
Christ provokes us to engage with others, our environment/circumstances, culture, life, etc. Not to be offended by it.
The book divides Christians into three main categories: Separatist (Insiders, Culture Warriors and Evangelizers), Cultural (Blenders and Philanthropists) and Restorers. And in doing so it gives a home to every Christian, which many won’t feel comfortable with.
The book is a call to engage, to create something and not just ideology.
